Yale’s Student Generated Website

October 9, 2012

Professor Comberg pointed out that Yale University School of Art has a site which students can feel free to edit and experiment with.

Check it out: http://art.yale.edu/

The page points out at the bottom that this is a wiki which certain students have permission to edit, say juniors and seniors. Most of us are familiar with Wikipedia articles which typically have a white background but as it turns out, if you set up a Media Wiki and edit its CSS sheets, you can also make some pretty crazy changes such as change the background image in a manner similar to the Yale page.

Here’s the link that explains how to do this! http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:CSS
